Matthew Guo

Programming Chair and Webmaster

Major: Biological Sciences
Hometown: Oakton, VA

Matthew joined Phi Delta Epsilon in his sophomore year. He has loved seeing all the diversity even within a pre-med community. Matthew previously served as Philanthropy Chair of PhiDE and is excited to serve as Programming Chair and Webmaster this semester. Outside of PhiDE, Matthew is the President of MEDLIFE Cornell, an ER medical scribe, and a Biological Sciences Student Advisor. He swims with Cornell Club Swim, previously serving as Men's President, and previous taught BIOG 1445 as a TA. Matthew also conducts research in the Weiss lab studying DNA damage repair. Off campus, Matthew has spent summertime at the National Institutes of Health studying protein secretion in the Ye lab and volunteering with INOVA health system. In his free time, Matthew enjoys cooking with his friends, swimming, and taking unreasonably long showers that his landlord pays for.

Brendan Parent

Logistics Rush Chair

Brendan joined PhiDE in spring 2019. PhiDE has given him the opportunity to be a part of an incredible group of people who are committed to achieving a lifetime of serving and making a meaningful difference in people’s lives. As Logistics Rush Chair, he is looking forward to seeing events come together which give potential new members the chance to get to know the brothers, and also to meet new people who share similar goals for the future. Outside of PhiDE, Brendan is a member of the Cornell Surgical Society, a TA for CHEM 2070, and a research assistant in the O’Brien lab. In his free time, he enjoys reading, hockey, and hiking.

Hana Brett

Marketing Rush Chair

Hana Brett joined PhiDE in the spring of 2019. She has loved getting to know all the members and is excited for the semesters to come being a part of this brotherhood. As the Marketing Rush Chair, she is looking forward to being involved in the recruitment process to help make rush fun and inviting for everyone. Outside of PhiDE, Hana is on the E-board of the student chapter of Doctors Without Borders, is involved in APO, and was on the varsity swim team for two seasons. In her free time, she loves listening to music and finding new spots on campus to watch the Ithaca sunsets.

Martina Lopez May

Philanthropy Chair

Hometown: Greenwich, CT

Martina joined PhiDE in fall 2018. She has loved getting opportunities to be a more active member of the Ithaca community through service and philanthropy projects and getting to know people with the same goals as her. She is looking forward to promote phide’s philanthropy projects in the coming semester. Outside of Phide, Martina works at a lab, is an organic chemistry tutor, and is part of a service club called Ballet and Books.

Josie Ford

Community Service Chair

Josie joined PhiDE in Fall 2018. As the first campus organization she became a part of, PhiDE has given her mentorship and inspiration. She has loved volunteering at Golisano Children’s Hospital and looks forward to implementing long-term volunteering opportunities for brothers as well as facilitating Into the Streets. Outside of PhiDE, Josie volunteers with Best Buddies, an organization supporting the inclusion of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. She is also a member of Alpha Phi and Ski and Snowboard Club. On the weekends, you can find her at Greek Peak, missing the mountains of Vermont.

Hunter Rice

Social Chair

College: Agriculture and Life Sciences
Major: Biological Sciences
Hometown: Wellfleet, MA

Since joining, Hunter has seen the tight-knit community that PhiDE fosters, and he hopes that as Social Chair he can strengthen the organization further through various new social events. Outside of Phi Delta Epsilon, Hunter is a member of Cornell’s Alzheimer’s Help and Awareness club and KDSAP (the Kidney Disease Screening Awareness and Prevention club). He is also a research assistant in the Ellwood Lab. In his free time, Hunter enjoys fly fishing, working out, going to the beach,  and playing with his dog, Hurley. 

Aneri Patel

Academic and Medical Enrichment Chair

Aneri joined Phi Delta Epsilon in fall 2018. She is grateful for the friends and community that PhiDE has given her. She previously served as Recruitment Chair and is looking forward to being the Academic/Medical Enrichment Chair this semester. Outside of PhiDE, Aneri is a TA for BIOMG 3300, a research assistant in the Reesink Lab, and a member of Tridelta. She is also a mentor for YOURS and loves spending time with kids. In her free time, Aneri enjoys going to the gym and exploring different restaurants in Ithaca.

Sebastian Dittgen

Alumni Relations Chair

Sebastian joined Phi Delta Epsilon in Fall 2018, and is very grateful for the experiences and friendships PhiDE has fostered. As Alumni Relations Chair, he serves as a bridge between the current NY Lambda Chapter and our amazing alumni around the world. In addition to serving as Alumni Relations Chair, Sebastian is a research assistant in the Personality, Attachment, and Control Lab, a board member of the Hydrocephalus Association's Teens Take Charge program, and a member of Phi Kappa Tau. He volunteers at Cayuga Medical Center and works as an ER scribe. When he's not studying at Olin Library, Sebastian enjoys falconry, baseball, and climbing.

Shayda Daneshvari

Public Relations Chair

Shayda joined PhiDE in Fall 2018. She has loved the family and support system it has given her. As Public Relations Chair, Shayda is looking forward to sharing PhiDE and it’s members’ successes with everyone. Outside of PhiDE, Shayda is involved in Pi Phi. She enjoys Ithaca’s cold weather.

 

Maddie Brown

Diversity and Inclusion Chair

College: Agriculture and Life Sciences
Major: Animal Sciences
Hometown: Troy, NY

Maddie joined PhiDE in Spring 2019. She has loved the guidance, support, and knowledge PhiDE has given to her. As Diversity and Inclusion Chair, she is looking forward to leading important discussions about diversity within the chapter, maintaining the outstanding inclusivity of PhiDE, and further educating PhiDE members on the importance of these topics in both the medical field and society. Outside of PhiDE, Maddie involved in The Women’s Rugby Football Club, Alpha Chi Omega, and Cornell Fitness Centers. She enjoys promoting women’s health, petting dogs, and CrossFit in her free time.
