Charlotte Jones

Webmaster

Hometown: New York, NY

Charlotte joined Phi Delta Epsilon in her freshman year and is excited to serve as the Webmaster, as well as the Marketing Chair for the Anatomy Fashion Show, this semester. Outside of PhiDE, Charlotte is a Tradition Fellow, a POST (Pre Orientation Service Trip) leader, a program assistant and tutor for Cornell's STEP (Science and Technology Education Program) Program and the Founder and President of Cameradery, a student run photography program for people with cognitive and physical disabilities. Charlotte conducts research in the Cholkids lab studying the effects that the prenatal supplement choline may have on infant development. Off campus, Charlotte works in a pediatric neurology lab at Cornell Weill Medical College. In her free time, Charlotte enjoys baking with his friends, swimming, and photography.

Brendan Parent

Logistics Rush Chair

Hometown: Pelham, MA

Brendan joined PhiDE in spring 2019. PhiDE has given him the opportunity to be a part of an incredible group of people who are committed to achieving a lifetime of serving and making a meaningful difference in people’s lives. As Logistics Rush Chair, he is looking forward to seeing events come together which give potential new members the chance to get to know the brothers, and also to meet new people who share similar goals for the future. Outside of PhiDE, Brendan is a member of the Cornell Surgical Society, a TA for CHEM 2070, and a research assistant in the O’Brien lab. In his free time, he enjoys reading, hockey, and hiking.

Yasoda Mantena

Marketing Rush Chair

Major: Biological Sciences Minoring in Spanish and Fashion
Hometown: Maywood, NJ

Yasoda joined the fraternity in Fall 2019. Her favorite part about PhiDE is being able to take a bunch of premed classes with her brothers and spending late nights studying together in Olin. Outside of PhiDE, Yasoda works with Cornell Environmental Health and Safety as a biosafety intern, and her job is to create and publish Biological Agent Reference Sheets made available to all the research labs across Cornell’s campus. She is a member of GlobeMed and Thread Fashion Magazine. She recently joined the Cheong Lab and studies human embryology and animal IVF. In her free time, she is a makeup artist, and she enjoys weightlifting, online shopping and watching Spanish dramas.

Sheli Yaskin

Philanthropy Chair

Sheli is a sophomore who is entering her second semester as a brother of PhiDE. She values philanthropy and is excited to take on the role of Philanthropy chair to help run events such as Big Red Thon. Outside of being in PhiDE, she is on the student board for the Chabad center at Cornell, a research assistant under David Levitsky in the Department of Nutritional Sciences, and volunteers at the MacCormick Correctional Facility. In her free time, Sheli enjoys spending time with friends, hiking, and rock climbing.

Emily Weiser 

Co-Community Service Chair

Major: Developmental Sociology
Hometown: New York, NY

Emily joined PhiDE as a sophomore, and is beyond thrilled to be serving as one of the Community Service Chairs. As a DSOC major, Emily is committed to looking at health and medicine through a social science lens. She volunteers as a tutor in downtown Ithaca and as a Big Red Buddy at the Cornell Childcare Center. She also plays club field hockey!

Hana Brett

Co-Community Service Chair

Hana joined PhiDE her sophomore spring and has loved being a part of this supportive and hard-working community. She is excited to serve as the Co-Community Service Chair this semester in addition to the Finance Chair for the Anatomy Fashion Show. This semester Emily and I will be focusing on our new partnership with Southern Tier AIDS Program, conducing biweekly site clean ups and being trained for the needle exchange program. Outside of PhiDE, Hana is on the executive board for the student chapter of Doctors Without Borders and is in the service fraternity APO. She is studying Biology and Society and minoring in Global Health, Inequality Studies, and Policy Analysis and Management. In her free time, Hana enjoys listening to music, watching the sunset, drawing, and swimming.  

Rachel Katz

Co- Academic and Medical Enrichment Chair

College: Agriculture and Life Sciences

Hometown: Bellmore, NY

Rachel Katz joined PhiDE in the spring of 2019. She joined PhiDE to find a tight knit group of people who are on the same path as her. PhiDE has given her some of her best friends. As the Medical Enrichment Chair, she is looking forward to informing the chapter on new medical advances and medical schools. Outside of PhiDE, Rachel is the Vice President of Academic Excellence of Kappa Kappa Gamma, is involved in Surgical Society, and loves movies!

David Rusakov

Co- Academic and Medical Enrichment Chair

College: Arts and Sciences
Major: Biological Sciences
Hometown: Denver, CO

David is an aspiring physician writer and a second-year biological sciences major. On campus, he serves as co-president of Pre-Medical Minority Mentorship program, writes for the Cornell Healthcare Review, volunteers for Friends of Farmworkers, and directs events for Cornell Hip Hop Heads. In his free time, he enjoys basketball, reading, and hiking.

Sebastian Dittgen

Alumni Relations Chair

College: Agriculture and Life Sciences
Major: Biological Sciences
Minor: Global Health, China and Pacific Studies
Hometown: New York, NY

Sebastian has been a member of PhiDE since Fall 2018. He has interests in neuroscience and Global Health, and is also pursuing a Chinese and Asian Pacific Studies minor. Outside of class, he works as an Emergency Department scribe at CMC, researches neuropsychology at Cornell's PAC Lab, and is a member of Phi Kappa Tau. Sebastian also serves as a mentor for Cornell's Young Researcher's Program and does falconry in his free time. One of the many reasons why Sebastian loves PhiDE is the deep-rooted brotherhood this chapter promotes. He notes that despite being a professional fraternity, the bonds he has formed extend past an academic setting.

Shayda Daneshvari

Public Relations Chair

Shayda joined PhiDE in Fall 2018. She has loved the family and support system it has given her. As Public Relations Chair, Shayda is looking forward to sharing PhiDE and it’s members’ successes with everyone. Outside of PhiDE, Shayda is involved in Pi Phi. She enjoys Ithaca’s cold weather.

 

Aleah Thomas

Co-Diversity and Inclusion Chair

Major: Global Public Health Sciences
Hometown: New York, NY

Aleah joined Phi Delta Epsilon in Fall of 2019. She is thankful for all the mentorship she has received from her peers. As the Diversity and Inclusion Chair, Aleah hopes to create a healthy environment for all members despite their background or social identity. Outside of Phi Delta Epsilon, Aleah is a TA for BioEE1780 and a research assistant for the PIP lab. She also serves as the secretary for the Curly Hair Initiative. In her free time, she enjoys playing volleyball and sleeping!

Maddie Brown

Co-Diversity and Inclusion Chair

Maddie has served as D&I chair for two semesters now. In her free time, she enjoys miniature painting, exercising, and playing with her pet snake, Mr. Noodle. She loves Phi Delta Epsilon because it has given her amazing opportunities to collaborate with various pre-meds, explore different medical fields, and make connections on and off campus. Outside of PhiDE, Maddie plays on the women’s rugby team, is involved in research on campus, and participates in different organizations like Alpha Chi Omega and Women’s Health Initiative.

Nico Modesti

Programming Chair

Hometown: Syracuse, NY

Nico is a sophomore who is entering his third semester as a brother of PhiDE. He is really excited to be programming chair, as he appreciates the opportunity to unite the brotherhood through medical education and wholesome events. Outside of being in PhiDE, he is a research assistant in the Raguso Lab in the Department of Neurobiology & Behavior, a tour guide, and a member of Pi Kappa Alpha. In his free time, he is an avid Syracuse basketball fan, and loves his two dogs, Kinley & Leo.
